Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello Everyone!

Lucky me I have been nominated by The Shoestring Treckkers  for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Big thank you goes out to Anthony and Brenda.  This is new to me, but several Travel Bloggers have participated that are well respected, well traveled and have amazing Travel web sites.  So… I thought it would be fun to do while helping out and supporting other bloggers.  It’s also a great way to get to know about each other and for my readers to know more about me!

It goes like this-

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the questions from the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers for the award.
  • Notify your nominated bloggers ASAP.
  • To continue this recognition you hope each blogger answers your questions and links to your web site with their thank you!
  • That’s it…hope to get to know my fellow bloggers more!

Here are the questions I need to answer for the Sunshine Blogger Award:

Why did you begin your blog?

My husband and I have been traveling for sometime now, we have a decent amount of experience and adventures so I thought why not write about it.  Plus people that know me know I always have to be doing something creative and I love to write.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their travel blog?

Know what it involves..which is a lot of time spent on a computer.  There is more social media you have to be involved in then you can even imagine, so be prepared. But most importantly, remember to enjoy your travels, live in the moment too.  Put down the camera, the video camera

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever been?

Its hard to say which is my very favorite because we have been to so many lovely places.  BUT if I had to pick one or two; Rome is my all time favorite city and our favorite holiday was Greece.

What are your travel goals for 2018?

I have a lot going on this year of 2018:  We spent a week in Iceland in February and a week in Rochester New York.  May- three weeks in Amsterdam and Scotland, June, July and August -back to New York at least 3-4 times this summer (I visit my Mother in her summer home), September -a wedding that I am the Wedding Planner for in New York.  October- Maine with an amazing group of friends.  December- New York City for a week to see Andrea Bocelli in Madison Square Garden and in Savannah Georgia for a week and New Years Eve with family.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had while traveling?

I would have to say Valentines Day dinner at Antoine in Paris!  It was so wonderful, the view of the Eiffel Tower while having the best entire meal from start to finish (and there was a lot).  You can read about it here in my husband Kevin’s post (read more)

What’s your favorite book?

This is easy and it truly is my favorite book as well as movies (all versions) Pride and Prejudice.  I might as well say everything written by Jane Austen.  In fact this year my husband bought me the first addition in color set of Jane Austen books from London!

What do you miss most from home while on the road?

Being with my kids and dogs (Reddington and Dolce Vita).  Dolce is only 8 pounds so we are thinking of taking her on a trip to Europe with us since dogs are allowed pretty much everywhere.

Who or what is your inspiration?

hmmm…I’m going to pick both: Who, that would be my husband Kevin.  We are very fortunate to both love to travel and experience new things.  So I think we inspire each other.  What, the feeling I have always had since I was young to see and touch things for myself.  There is nothing more exhilarating then seeing and touching something that is thousands of years old right?

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

I have a huge desire, it’s been number one on my bucket list for years- to go to St. Petersburg, Russia.

What’s the one item you can’t leave home without?

Oh this is an easy one, my computer.  I can not go anywhere without my computer it’s like attached to me- like glue!

Would you rather have a year of backpacking or a month of luxury travel?

I don’t do camping or backpacking, luxury all the way for me! I don’t even think I could do glamping!  So I will take the month please 🙂

This is great, as I feel I know more about you! Being European, it’s lovely to read that Greece is your favourite place. It’s pretty wonderful! Many congratulations on the nomination!
